At Altered Aura, I believe selfcare begins at the root, both physically and energetically. I’m Carley, a Phoenix native, licensed cosmetologist, certified trichologist, and the owner of Altered Aura Head Spa. With more than seven years of experience, I created Altered Aura to combine advanced scalp care, intentional relaxation, nature, and science. My education extends far beyond performing a relaxing head spa. I study scalp and hair science, product ingredients, and why those ingredients work. Every full ritual begins with an in-depth, trichology based 1000× scalp analysis. This allows me to closely assess buildup, dryness, excessive oil production, flaking, follicle congestion, and the overall condition of your scalp before personalizing your treatment. I support clients experiencing concerns such as dandruff, excessive oil, thinning and shedding, hair loss, and physician diagnosed psoriasis. I also help clients better understand scalp and hair changes associated with pregnancy, postpartum shedding, PCOS, hormonal imbalances, and menopause. While head spa services do not replace medical care, I can help you understand what is visible on your scalp and when additional support from a dermatologist or physician may be beneficial. I proudly use Biolage professional products, a line selected through my trichology education for its combination of high-performance science and naturally inspired ingredients. Biolage products are vegan and Leaping Bunny certified cruelty free. Along with customized plant based oils, gentle exfoliation, steam therapy, botanical rinses, aromatherapy, and specialized massage, every ingredient and technique is intentionally chosen for your scalp’s individual needs. Throughout your session, I’ll explain what we’re seeing, what I’m using, why it was selected, and how you can care for your scalp between visits.
